Please read the entire bio before contacting us with questions. Send us an email requesting an application to start the adoption process-- ADOPT@ALMOSTHOMENM.ORG Visit our main website www.almosthomenm.org Follow us on Facebook Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Almost-Home-New-Mexico/203840136304815 Approximate DOB 10/01/2017 Size - Small History- This cutie was a stray running at large. Due to fear aggression though she was deemed unadoptable and transferred to us for behavior modification. Temperament- Super sweet, playful, and very loving. She is a little shy with strangers so will need a family that will take her out to ... (Read More)meet lots of people but so far she is doing great and loves everyone she meets. We think the shelter environment might have just been too stressful for her and that is why she was behaving the way she was. She is one of those dogs that just wants to be by her loved ones all the time and will follow you everywhere. Energy Level- Average energy level- not crazy and not laid back- just a happy medium Dogs/Cats- She is doing wonderful with all the other dogs on the property and has done great with the cats. Housetrained- She is using puppy pads but has also had a few accidents so is still learning. Please be aware puppies are a lot of work - they need a lot of training and socialization to grow into well behaved adult members of the family. As puppies they will sometimes mouth/bite and scratch in play. Children should be taught how to be gentle with all animals and to understand that puppies aren't trying to be mean but might accidentally scratch or bite them. If you have a sensitive child/children and wanting to get a pet for them maybe consider an adult that has been around children- they are a lot less work as well. Otherwise there might be a lot of tears and nonsense when the child doesn't understand why the puppy scratched or nipped them. So please be fully aware and do your research if you are considering a puppy. Adoption fee $300 includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need.
