Rescue Me ID: 16-06-17-00574Landon (male)

Italian Greyhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

We hate to see any dog without a home, but it really bothers us to see puppies growing up in boarding. Landon came to us after being abandoned when his owners moved and left him and his siblings to fend for themselves. His brother and sister have been adopted, but poor Landon hasn't even had an inquiry. Here's what we know: Landon is probably about 7 months old. He is a mixed breed guy who might have whippet or Italian greyhound in him. He is pretty slender and can run so fast. His brother looks a lot like a yellow lab in miniature form, and his sister is a dark brown, beautiful who-knows-what. Landon is adorable, sweet, funny, friendly, ... (Read More)and LOVES to run. Landon has really come out of his shell since the first day we met him. He is so much more bubbly and continues to gain confidence. Right now his biggest hurdle is getting used to a leash. He really doesn't know why he has this rope-like thing around his neck. He might do better with a harness--something we can try in a foster home. Ideally Landon will have a fenced yard because of the leash issue. Otherwise, he will need a home that will help teach him that a leash isn't scary. He will also need help adjust to a home life again. This means that he isn't likely housebroken. His sister and brother are already getting the hang of that concept, and we are confident that he will get it too. Landon is good with other dogs, cats, and children. Right now he is probably wishing for any companionship he can get. Landon is neutered, up to date on shots, and microchipped. He is crate trained although he does bark a little at first. If you would like to offer Landon a forever home please complete an application on our website at www.pawswapofgreaterlafayette.com/adopting. His adoption fee is $175. If you have any questions, please contact us on Facebook or email us at pawswapofgreaterlafayette@aol.com. If Landon is still posted, then he is available and we are still reviewing applications. PIease Read Before Adopting an Italian Greyhound in Indiana
Italian Greyhound Dogs can make good pets in Indiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Italian Greyhound is a gentle, elegant, somewhat nervous and high strung dog. The Italian Greyhound makes a good companion for low-key families without rambunctious children. Italian Greyhounds get along well with other pets, especially other Italian Greyhounds, but do not do well with larger dogs. Italian Greyhounds need gentle but firm obedience training.
